MORE Mini-Conference: Build and Refresh Your Evaluation Skills

Description

Reenergize. Reconnect. Get Inspired.

Join us for MORE Refresh, a lively half-day mini conference designed to empower nonprofit staff with practical skills and fresh ideas. Whether you’re new to the field or returning, this engaging morning offers hands-on workshops in essential areas like data visualization, survey design, focus groups, and logic models—core tools to help you strengthen your evaluation skills and confidence.

Workshops include:

  • Make Data Viz Your Biz: A Beginner's Guide to Data Visualization: Want to make your charts not just look good, but make sense? In this hands-on intro to data visualization, we’ll break down the basics of “data viz,” show you how to pick the right chart for your data, and share simple tricks to help your audience instantly get your message. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how to present data that informs and persuades.
  • Ready, Set, Ask: Getting Started with Effective Survey Design: Designing a useful survey can feel daunting—but it doesn’t have to be. This session explores the key elements of effective survey design and introduces a practical template from Sharp Insight to guide your process. The template helps align survey questions with your objectives, streamlines design decisions, and even lays the groundwork for your data analysis plan from the very start.
  • Tell Me More About That: Fundamentals of Fabulous Focus Groups: An interactive introduction to designing and leading focus groups. Participants will learn when and why to use focus groups, how to craft effective questions, and how to turn what they hear into actionable insights. The session offers practical tools to engage communities, capture meaningful feedback, and strengthen organizational learning and evaluation.
  • Design with Purpose: Strengthening Programs Through Logic Models: A hands-on session on building logic models. Participants will learn the purpose, core components, and benefits of a logic model; begin drafting key sections; and explore practical tips and tricks to strengthen their own program logic models.

Flexible Learning! With two sessions happening at the same time, you can choose the workshops that match your interests and goals, connect with peers, and share ideas along the way. Please choose one Workshop per session.
