How Will the New MCPS Boundary Study Impact You?(Virual)

Description

Nonprofit Montgomery is pleased to connect County nonprofits with MCPS staff to learn more about the boundary studies that impact 19 of 25 MCPS clusters. These two boundary studies will be the biggest redrawing of Montgomery County's school boundaries since the 1980s. The changes resulting from these studies will populate two new high schools opening in August 2027-- Woodward and Crown -- and will also address capacity concerns in other clusters.

MCPS aims to ensure that all communities affected by potential changes understand what is being considered and have the opportunity to provide input. Because nonprofits are trusted messengers, if your organization connects with county residents who are MCPS students or parents, you are an important part of the outreach and feedback process.

Attend this session to learn:

  • General information about both studies, including milestones and timelines
  • Where to access information and resources
  • How to access the GIS maps and data tables
  • How, when, and where county residents can provide feedback

The session will be led by Cat Malchodi, Executive Director in the Office of District Operations at MCPS.

This session is free for Nonprofit Montgomery members and non members. A zoom link will be send to those registered shortly before the event.

Date: Thursday, September 18, 10 to 11am

Location: On Zoom
